How deep will my well need to be in Southeast Idaho?
Depth varies significantly by location and aquifer. In Bingham County (Shelley, Blackfoot, Firth), residential wells commonly range from 150 to 400+ feet. In Bonneville County (Idaho Falls) and Jefferson County (Rigby), depths can vary from 100 to 500+ feet depending on the aquifer being targeted. After site evaluation, we can give you a much more specific estimate based on neighboring well logs.
How long does it take to drill a new well?
A typical residential well in Southeast Idaho takes 1–3 days of active drilling, depending on depth, rock formations, and equipment. Permitting, site prep, and pump installation add additional time. From project start to fully operational water system, most residential projects are completed within 1–2 weeks.
What permits are required to drill a well in Idaho?

Is my well water safe to drink?
Newly drilled wells should always be tested for water quality before use. We recommend testing for bacteria, nitrates, and minerals at minimum. L&C can refer you to certified water testing labs in Southeast Idaho. Water quality can also be affected by aquifer conditions, casing integrity, and surface contamination — all factors we address during proper installation.
